The Last Emperor is an epic historical drama directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, chronicling the life of Puyi, Chinas final emperor, from his childhood in the Forbidden City to his later years under communist rule. The film explores power, identity, imprisonment, and political transformation across the collapse of imperial China. It won nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
